Blue Cliff Retreat

Blue Cliff Retreat is a country house built in 2012 on a private Pokolbin estate, finished in grey gum timber with sandstone floors and a recycled hundred-year-old front door. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms take a family or a small group: a king master with an ensuite, a queen room, and a third room adding a queen with two single bunks. A sandstone fireplace anchors the lounge, and a games room off it holds a pool table, darts and a smart TV.

The wrap-around deck runs to an undercover lounge and a gas barbecue, looking over a water catchment dam and the vineyards beyond. A shared pool and tennis court sit about an eight-minute walk from the house. It suits a family or a couple of pairs wanting a quiet base a few minutes from the Pokolbin cellar doors, though it is not pet friendly. Bookings go through Hunter Valley Stays.
