Hermitage Lodge sits on McDonalds Road with its own vineyard and bushland around it, a short drive from most of the Pokolbin cellar doors. Rooms have been reworked in earthy tones, some with gas fireplaces and kitchenettes, and there is a separate house, The Residence, that sleeps up to ten with its own pool. Pescara, the restaurant on site, means you can taste all day and not have to drive out to dinner.
A pool, gardens and a guest lounge fill the hours in between, and continental breakfast is available. Reception runs 8am to 5pm on weekdays, check-in is from 2pm and check-out is 10.30am. It suits couples and small groups who want a bed among the vineyards with dinner within walking distance.
