Hunter Valley Lodge and Retreat is one property built for a whole group at once: eleven bedrooms and eight bathrooms across three buildings on five acres, sleeping up to thirty-five. The main Lodge is done as a Canadian hunting lodge, with cathedral ceilings and a grand stone fireplace at the heart of the lounge, and holds six of the guest suites. Its kitchen runs to semi-commercial scale, with two ovens and two dishwashers, and a custom dining table to match.
Outside there is a swimming pool and a jacuzzi, a bocce court, a giant chess set and a croquet lawn, while the Bison Den holds the billiard table, table tennis and a private cinema. Wraparound verandahs look to the Broken Back Range, and an EV charger is set up for electric cars. The Hunter Valley Zoo sits next door. It suits a large group or a multi-family stay, a short drive from Cessnock and the surrounding cellar doors.
