Huntlee Tavern sits in the new Huntlee township at North Rothbury, at the northern gateway to the valley, the sort of place you go when the cellar doors have closed and you want a straightforward feed. The menu runs breakfast through to dinner: schnitzels, chargrilled rump, house-battered flathead, pizzas and burgers, with a kids' menu for under-14s and daily specials. It was named AHA Best Casual Dining for Regional NSW.
There are indoor and outdoor function spaces, TAB facilities and big screens for the racing, with live music on event days and a courtesy bus. Parking is easy, which is not true of everywhere here. It is a modern pub for a group or a family after a reliable meal rather than a vineyard fine-diner, and the courtesy bus settles how you get back afterwards.
