Sidecar Roasters roast their beans on Maitland Street in Branxton and pour them a few metres away, so the cafe smells of whatever came off the drum that morning. The walls carry a rotating exhibition under the name Coffee Meets Art, and brewing equipment is sold alongside the coffee. Food is short and seasonal: morning wraps, loaded toasties, salads, soups and a changing run of pastries, with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan versions on request.
It opens from 6am on weekdays and 7am at weekends, closing at 2pm, so it is an early stop rather than a lunch destination. Sidecar took Best New Cafe in the 2026 Coffee Industry Heroes awards at the Melbourne International Coffee Expo. The room doubles as a hire space for workshops, launches and long-table dinners, and Branxton sits at the northern approach to the vineyards.
