Grays Inn sits on the main road through Wollombi village, with three guest rooms named for the wines poured downstairs: Semillon, Verdelho and Shiraz. Check-in is at the Noyce Brothers Wine cellar door inside the building, and every booking comes with a bottle of their wine on arrival. The rooms open onto a balcony looking across the village, and rates run from $270 to $320 a night depending on room and day.
Myrtle & Stone and the Wollombi Tavern are both a few metres away for dinner and breakfast, and the garden behind is used for functions. The Wollombi Valley wine trail starts on the doorstep, which makes the inn a base for the southern end of the region rather than the Pokolbin cluster. A two-night minimum applies on long weekends and concert weekends, rooms are not serviced during a stay, and arrivals after 2pm are by prior arrangement.
