Ian and Debra Moore bought this Palmers Lane vineyard in 1986 and now run it with their children, making small-batch wines with reduced sulphur and few synthetic sprays. The range covers Semillon, Shiraz, Chardonnay, Merlot and a rose.
The Signature tasting runs an hour for $10 and takes in the wines, the vineyard's story and the Spicy Grape Sauce made to Debra's grandmother's recipe, with handmade lemonade. Pair the wines with handmade condiments and cheese for $35, with Cuvee chocolate for $30, or take a farm picnic for two at $65. The cellar door opens 10am to 5pm daily except Tuesday, and every experience needs booking ahead. There is no restaurant here, so the food is the condiments, the chocolate and the picnic hampers built around the wine. It is a small, personal stop, the sort of room where the people pouring the wine are the ones who grew the fruit.
