Established2016

IronBark Hill Brewing Co brews on the Peter Drayton estate on Hermitage Road, at the northern end of the Pokolbin cluster. Brewing started on the site in 2016 and the taproom opened to the public the year after, so the beer is poured where it is made. The range covers a lager, a pale ale, an IPA, a hazy pale and a stout, with seasonal releases on tap alongside, and a paddle of four 200mL tasters lets you work across several before settling on a glass. The brewery has taken medals at the Australian International Beer Awards.

This is a casual indoor and outdoor stop rather than a booked, sit-down tasting, so walk-ins are welcome and booking online is optional. The partly covered outdoor seating takes dogs, and Wildstreak Kitchen on the same estate does wood-fired pizza and pub food, though its hours are not published so plan around the taproom's. The cellar door opens Wednesday to Sunday and closes Monday and Tuesday. Between the beer, the food and the dog-friendly courtyard, it suits families and groups as much as a couple after a paddle.
