Established2008

Robert and Sally Molines opened Bistro Molines at Tallavera Grove on Mount View in 2008, after three decades of Hunter dining that began at Happy Valley in 1973. The kitchen cooks French provincial from an ever-changing menu, and Garreth Robbs has been head chef for ten years. The dining room and wrap-around verandahs look over the Mount View valley and the vineyards of Tallavera Grove below.

Lunch runs Thursday to Monday, with dinner on Saturday, and the room is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Reservations are essential: two courses at $110 a head, three at $140, bread and canapes included. The bistro was awarded one chef's hat in the 2019 Good Food Guide, and Little Orchard Cottage on the same property takes guests who want to stay the night rather than drive after lunch.
