Two chef's hats 2015 to present

Muse sits in the grounds of Hungerford Hill on Broke Road and has held two chef's hats in the Good Food Guide since 2015. Troy Rhoades-Brown opened it at 24 and still cooks here, and much of what reaches the plate comes out of his own garden, twenty years of raised beds, a greenhouse and a citrus orchard worked on living soil. It is contemporary Australian fine dining rather than a casual lunch.

Dinner runs Wednesday to Saturday and lunch on Saturday, a single set six-course menu at $185 a head, with extra dishes and beverage pairings offered alongside. The kitchen asks you to allow two and a half to three and a half hours, and there is no BYO. A private dining room seats up to twenty and exclusive hire takes a hundred; children are not recommended, so plan it as an adults' occasion.
