Established1967

Hungerford Hill has stood on the corner of Broke Road since 1967, and Sam Arnaout has owned it since 2016. It is easy to spot: the tastings happen inside a barrel-shaped Tasting Room above an underground cellar. Guided tastings start at $10 and lean on cool-climate fruit from the Hunter, Hilltops and Tumbarumba, with age-worthy Semillon and Shiraz at the core and the EPIC Shiraz as the flagship red.

Food is a real reason to come. Muse Restaurant has held a chef's hat every year since 2015 and two since 2022, and the $60 Epic Tasting matches premium wines to bite-sized Muse dishes, while the $100 Hungerford Lunch is a two-course share meal with six wines, Tuesday to Saturday with a day's notice. There is a Sculpture Courtyard and lawn for a relaxed glass or a picnic rug. It sits on the wine shuttle route, which makes it an easy anchor for a day without the car.
