Hope Estate runs three things off one 420-acre property on Broke Road: the winery, Hope Brewery from 2014, and Hope Distillery added in 2020. Wine tastings are seated, prepaid and booked into timed slots from 10am, and the $20 Estate flight of six wines takes about 45 minutes and comes back to you on a purchase of three bottles or more.

The spirit paddles are the other reason to stop, four small pours of gin, vodka, single-barrel whiskey or liqueur with garnish and mixer, from $20. It is a cashless venue, open Wednesday to Sunday, and dogs are welcome on a lead but must stay outside. The cellar door is wheelchair accessible, and Wombat Cottage, built lakeside in 1910, is there if you want to stay on. Between the wine, the beer and the spirits, it is an easy place for a mixed group to keep everyone happy.
