Established2020

Hunter Wine Lab was started in 2020 by Nathan Heuston and Leonie Di Lorenzo, and the cellar door sits inside the working winery rather than beside it, so a tasting happens among the tanks and barrels. The list is long and experimental, running from Hunter Semillon, Chardonnay and Shiraz to Fiano, Tempranillo, Sangiovese and the Pink Prosecco that has become the flagship.

The Signature tasting is $15 for about 50 minutes, and there is beer on tap and a $15 beer tasting for anyone who has had enough wine. A wine and chocolate pairing is $25, and Growing to Glass is the one to book: two hours from vineyard to finished wine with a tasting at the end, for $55. The cellar door opens seven days, 10am to 6pm, later than most, so it works as a last stop of the day. Bespoke sessions can also be arranged directly with the winery for anyone who wants something built to order.
