Saddler's Creek pours seven days from a sandstone and timber cellar door on Marrowbone Road, run by the Laureti family across a range that reaches past the Hunter staples into Fiano, Nebbiolo, Montepulciano and Tempranillo. Friday is the day to time a visit: Wine and Chill runs from 4pm to 8pm with live music and the Mangia airstream kitchen serving Italian plates by Chef Chiero.
The picnic garden looks across the vineyard to the Brokenback range, children and dogs are both welcome, and there are kids' tasting paddles for the junior visitors. On selected Sundays the Wine Walk pairs a guided vineyard walk with four wine and food matches and a Mangia lunch. The Saddler's Pantry inside sells local cheese, olives and honey if you would rather build your own picnic. Tasting prices are not published on the site, so ask when you book, and note the last Premium Tasting booking is at 3.30pm.
