Adam's Leap is a six-acre vineyard on Hermitage Road, planted to roughly two acres of Chardonnay, three and a half of Shiraz and half an acre of Viognier on red loam over a clay and limestone base. The cellar door took a year to plan and a year to build, and it runs across indoor and outdoor rooms with a bar, comfortable seating and a lounge kept for wine club members.

Tastings are complimentary, which is rare in the valley, and the doors open Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm, with weekdays by appointment. Ghost Rider's Lodge, the estate's own guest house, sleeps a group across a full kitchen, a billiard room and a spa suite, with a balcony over the vines to the Brokenback Range. It is a small, three-variety estate rather than a big name, and the free tasting makes it an easy one to add to a weekend.
