The Hunter Valley Chocolate Company has made couverture chocolate and fudge on Broke Road at Pokolbin for more than twenty-five years, and the confectioners pour, cut and pack each batch of fudge by hand in view of the showroom. A $5 tasting, booked ahead by phone, runs through bark, buttons, coffee beans, cabinet chocolate and fudge. There is a cafe alongside the retail floor for coffee and desserts.

The factory itself runs no tours, so this is a browse-and-taste stop rather than a booked experience of any length. It suits families and anyone after a sugar hit between tastings, and the Broke Road showroom is open seven days from 9am to 5pm. The company keeps a second shop, The Stonehouse, at Peterson House further along Broke Road, open 10am to 4pm.
