Crossing Creek is a small estate vineyard on Deaseys Road at Rothbury, named for the creek that runs through it. Tastings are seated and private rather than at a bar, and you are free to wander the vineyard afterwards, which is not something the busier cellar doors can offer.
The wines are estate grown and made by contract winemakers in the region, with Semillon, Chardonnay and Shiraz on the list. No opening hours or price are published, so contact the estate before you drive out. There is an architect-designed Hutte on the property overlooking the vineyard and the creek if you want to stay the night. It is a stop for people who want quiet and space rather than a scene, in the less-travelled Rothbury pocket of the region.
