Blueberry Hill has grown fruit on its Coulson Road block since the 1970s, when the land was part of the MacPherson Estate. The cellar door pours a small range made from the vines that surround it plus hand-picked parcels from elsewhere in New South Wales: Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, a Merlot rose, Shiraz, Cabernet and two sparklings.
The tasting is $10 for about 45 minutes, and the room looks across the estate vineyard to the Broken Back Range with cheese served alongside. Opening hours are not published anywhere on the winery's site, so ring ahead before you build a day around it. It is a small, straightforward stop rather than a destination, and the uninterrupted view of the range is as much the reason to come as the wine.
