Krinklewood is the Hunter's only ACO-certified organic and biodynamic vineyard with a winery on site, 150 acres at Broke laid out with Provencal gardens, a sun-trap courtyard and a good many resident peacocks. Valentina Moresco makes the wine, off Chardonnay, Semillon, Shiraz, Verdelho and a Pinot, from a property first planted in 1981.
The Guided Pour is a 45-minute hosted tasting of five wines for $30, or you can take an Enomatic self-pour card at $25, $35 or $50 and work through up to eight at your own pace. Cezan, the trattoria and bar in the courtyard, serves seasonal Italian shared plates alongside the tastings. The cellar door opens Friday to Sunday only, 10am to 5pm, and closes when the estate is hired for a private function, so check the reservation system before driving out. Dogs are welcome on a leash, and the Residence on site sleeps up to eight if you want to stay.
