Molly Morgan is a young cellar door on Talga Road in Lovedale, about ten minutes off the Pokolbin strip and named after Mary Jones, the convict-turned-landholder better known as Molly Morgan. The tasting is $10 a head over about 45 minutes, largely across single-vineyard wines grown on the Lovedale block, with a cheese board available alongside.
Dogs on leads and supervised children are both welcome, which is not a given at a working vineyard. Three self-contained one-bedroom villas sit on the property, named for the grapes, each with vineyard views, a gas fireplace, a BBQ and a complimentary tasting for guests; book all three and they sleep six. It opens Thursday to Sunday, with Tuesday and Wednesday by appointment, and groups are capped at twelve. The gravel driveway can be awkward for wheelchairs and prams in the wet, so it is worth knowing before you go.
