Stomp is a cellar door without a winery attached. Michael and Meredith McManus founded it in 2004, and Michael makes wine under contract for other growers around the valley, which is why the Lovedale range is broader than one vineyard would give: Semillon, Chardonnay, Verdelho, Shiraz and Fiano.
Tastings start at $10 for six current releases and stay under $20 even for the eight-wine premium flight. Sip and Settle is the one to book if you are not in a hurry: a three-wine tasting, then a full glass, with lawn games and trivia up in the Loft, for $17. Cheese and chocolate pairings are $30 each and need 48 hours notice: the cheese comes from Binnorie with Fordwich olives, and the chocolate is Hunter Valley Chocolate Co. There is also a ceramics, wine and cheese workshop at $160 for something different. The cellar door opens Thursday to Monday, closing at 3pm on Sunday, with groups capped at ten.
