Mount Eyre Vineyards (Honeytree Estate)

Mount Eyre pours at its Honeytree Estate cellar door on Gillards Road, a working shed opened in 2022 after twenty-three vintages without one. The Iannuzzi and Tsironis families have run the business since 1999, and it draws on three vineyards: Three Ponds at Broke for Semillon, Fiano, Verdelho and Chardonnay, Holman at Pokolbin for Shiraz, Merlot and Nero d'Avola, and Honeytree's own fifty-year-old Semillon, Shiraz and Cabernet.

Neptune, their Semillon sparkling, has been made here since 2005, and the alternative varieties, Fiano and Nero d'Avola among them, are a reason to seek the place out. No tasting price is published, so phone ahead to confirm. The cellar door opens Monday and Friday to Sunday, with Tuesday to Thursday by appointment, and the family also lets the Holman Estate guesthouse down the road. Groups are welcome with a booking.
