Kawal Rock is a small distillery on Milbrodale Road south of Broke, working on Wonnarua country at the quieter southern end of the region. The still house is a corrugated-iron shed lined with copper, two pot stills and a spirit safe under the gable, and the spirits are made there in small runs. The range is gin first, with a Signature, a Pink Diamond, an Itchy Wombat and a Campfire, alongside a Milbrodale Moonshine and a brandy.
Visits are by booking rather than a drop-in cellar door: there are no published opening hours, and the distillery takes bookings and enquiries through a form on its site rather than an online calendar. A tasting runs about forty-five minutes. Being out past Broke, it suits a day built around the Broke Fordwich and Milbrodale end rather than a quick detour from Pokolbin, so plan the timing when you book.
