Allandale is a long-standing Lovedale Road cellar door, set above its own vines with the Brokenback Range filling the view behind. Tastings are seated, taken on the sunny terrace or inside the cellar door, and the wines are made on site so the working winery is part of what you walk past. Semillon and Chardonnay lead the range, with Pinot Noir among the reds. It opens most of the week, nine to five Monday to Saturday and from ten on Sundays and public holidays, closed only on Christmas Day.
No tasting price is published, so ask when you book or arrive. The location suits an early start: it sits on the Lovedale side of the valley, a short drive from the Pokolbin cluster, which makes it an easy first or last stop rather than a detour. If you are tasting across the day, sort out who is driving before you set off.
