Jac & Jones pour on Hermitage Road from a cellar door open Friday to Sunday, 10am to 6pm, with Monday to Thursday by appointment. The range leans on Hunter Semillon and Chardonnay and runs out through Pinot Grigio, Shiraz, the Mostly Jones rose and the Jonesy Brut sparkling.
The Matched Tasting is the one to book: nine wines set against bite-sized dishes worked out with their baker, so it lands closer to a light lunch than a straight flight. Neither the standard tasting nor the matched one is priced on the site, so ask when you book. The same pair hire out Lovely, a polished aluminium mobile bar built in the UK, for events around the Hunter, so the cellar door is only half of what they do. It is a younger, more design-led operation than most of its Hermitage Road neighbours.
