Bonvilla works a single vineyard on Oakey Creek Road planted more than thirty years ago, and pours the result in a modern cellar door hosted by WSET-qualified staff. Two tastings anchor the visit: a $15 self-paced flight of three wines over forty-five minutes, or a $20 guided run through six, served with Turkish bread, salt, oil and balsamic.

The whites, Chardonnay and Verdelho, come off the lower slopes, and the Montepulciano is the outlier in a Hunter line-up. If you want to stay put, a $60 picnic hamper puts you out on the grounds for as long as you like, and the hilltop villa next to the cellar door sleeps two to twelve with views across the valley. It runs a set of celebration packages too, from hens afternoons to a proposal set-up with etched flutes. Open seven days, 10am to 5pm, with groups over twelve by arrangement.
