Nightingale sits on Milbrodale Road at Broke, under Yellow Rock Mountain, growing Shiraz and Chardonnay and opening every day from 9am to 3pm. A tasting is $10 a head, and the early hours make it a rare option for a mid-morning start out at Broke.

Cheese, antipasto and signature platters are served daily, and set menus can be arranged for groups of ten or more at lunch or dinner, so it works for a gathering as much as a tasting. Villas on the property are booked direct with the vineyard, and the lawns are used for weddings and events. It is a straightforward, all-day stop rather than a destination cellar door, and the position under Yellow Rock is the pick of it. Bookings are worth making for the platters and any group visit.
